現在完成式Present Perfect Tense和過去式Past Tense
在我們所處的大地上，萬事萬物都有造物主給它的週期，日夜交替是一日、月朔月望成一月、四季變化為一年，內鍵在人體體內的生理時鐘Bioclock也遵循著一天24小時的規律與大自然的日出日落同步，透過各種複雜的機能運作左右著人的行為，人們按照這規律，完成一天的工，才能夠保有良好的生理與心理狀態。
清晨是一天的開始，身體在經過一夜睡眠的已得恢復，此時正是舒展心靈的大好時刻，許多名言都說明了這個道理，
如台灣俗語: ”三日早起當一工 (一天 ) “；
中文成語: ”一日之計在於晨” ；
英文諺語: “早起鳥兒有蟲吃The early bird catches the worm.”；
聖經詩篇5:3 : ”早晨祢必聽我的聲音；早晨我必向祢陳明我的心意，並要警醒。”；

Morning Has Broken是英文現在完成式Present
Perfect Tense的使用，歌曲中還有多處使用這個時態來表達清晨的景象，在英文的十二時態中，現在完成式Present Perfect Tense和過去式Past Tense是學習者較容易混淆的兩種時態，因為兩者都是用來表達過去發生的事，其中的區別是過去式用來表達於某個時間發生過的事，與現在無關；而現在完成式雖然也指過去發生的事，但是時間點不重要，主要著重與現在的關係，表達到目前為止的動作、持續的狀態或生活經驗。以下是其概述:
過去式句型S +
V-ed(過去式動詞)
例: I came
from Pingtong thirty years ago. 我三十年前來自屏東。
現在完成式句型 S + have/has + p.p.(過去分詞)
例: Morning has broken like the first morning.天已破曉就像第一個早晨
1.a.時間副詞為明確過去的時間，如just now、last night、 yesterday、
last year、 three days ago、the other day、the next day、 then、
when….. 等，會用過去式。
例: We lived in Taipei
three years ago. 我們三年前住在台北
I didn’t know that until three days ago. 我直到三天前才知道這件事。
When did you learn English? 你是何時開始學英文的?
b.當時間為so far、up to now、for+一段時間、since+開始的時間點、
….等持續的一段的時間，及many times、already 、yet、ever、
never、… 等表達經驗或程度用詞，會到現在完成式。
例: I have been a mother
since 1992. 我自從1992起開始當媽媽。
I haven’t heard from her so far. 到目前為止我都還沒有她的消息。
She has been in Japan for 10 years. 她已經在日本十年了。
I have already taught English for fifteen
years.我已經教英文十五年。
Have you ever been to Japan? 你曾經去過日本嗎?
Since when have you learn English? 你是何時開始學英文的?
2.有時，句子並沒有時間用詞，但是可以從使用過去式還是現在完成式
來得知語意。
例: a. Did you see Aunty
Mary? (中文翻譯為) 你有看到Mary阿姨嗎?
Have
you seen Aunty Mary? (中文翻譯為) 你曾經見過Mary阿姨嗎?
b. As I told you before, I don’t like
eating Stinky tofu.
( 中文翻譯為) 就像我曾經說過的，我不喜歡吃臭豆腐。
As I have told you before, I don’t like eating Stinky
tofu.
( 中文翻譯為) 就像我一再說的，我不喜歡吃臭豆腐。
3.有些動詞是瞬間動作就結束，沒有時間的持續性，這類動詞如: die、 marry、come、go、leave、 arrive、 begin、start、stop、fall、give、receive、allow、enter、join….，文法上稱為 ”瞬間動詞Momentary verb”，使用在現在完成式時，不能與表示時間距離的副詞連用，若要表明時間距離，有三種方法: a.使用過去式
b.改成狀態用詞 (例如: leave改成be away、 die改成be dead、
begin改成 be on、arrive改成be here、fall in love改成 be in love)
c.改寫成 It is /has been + 一段時間 + since子句 (瞬間動詞過去式)
例: My grandfather has
died for thirty years. (X錯誤)
My
grandfather died thirty years ago.(O正確) (a.)
My
grandfather has been dead for thirty. (O正確) (b.)
It is thirty years since my grandfather
died.(O正確) (c.)
She have married Andy for twenty years. (X錯誤)
She married Andy twenty years ago. .(O正確) (a.)
She has been married with Andy for twenty years. (O正確) (b.)
It has been twenty years since she married
Andy. .(O正確) (c.)
Morning has broken. (O正確) Morning broke at 6 o’clock. (O正確) (a.)
