丹尼男孩Danny
Boy是愛爾蘭的經典名曲，作曲者為 Rory Dall O'Cahan，寫於1600年間。
後來，費德里克．魏舍利Frederick Edward Weatherly (1848 –1929) 在1913填寫了詠唱父子情懷的丹尼男孩，內容為一位父親寫給即將從軍兒子的信，古來稱征戰幾人回的父子訣別及舐犢情深的字句深深地感動讀者，而流傳至今。

Until & Not… Until是英文中用在等待期限時最常用到的介係詞，以下是其概述:
1.until 或 till中文意思為直到…為止 強調一直做某件事直到某個時間。例: You can stay here until (till) your mom comes.
你可以留在這裡直到你媽媽來(為止)。
This ticket is valid until the end of this
year.
這張票直到今年年底前都有效。
I will study hard for the test
tomorrow until (till) the test comes.
我會認真準備這考試直到考試到來(為止)。
And I will sleep
in peace until (till) you come to me.
我將會安息,直至你回到我身邊
*在此句型中until = till 可以替換，若主要子句為未來式，until 後方 的動詞需用現在式
2.not until中文意思為直到…才…。想表達直到某時間點才做某事需用 “not …until” 句型。雖是否定句型，卻是為肯定語氣。
*在此句型中有not，until不能用till 替，有以下三種用法:
a. 一般用法: not...until...
例: I did not know it until just now. 直到剛剛我才知道這事。
Mary
did not leave until noon. Mary到中午才離開.
b.強調時間用法，以it當虛主詞 It is / was not until...that+完整句子
例: It was not
until just now that I knew it.直到剛剛我才知道這事。
It
was not until 10 o’clock that I went to
school.
我直到10點才去上學。
c. 倒裝用法: not until兩字不能分開，一起放在句首，搭配倒裝句使
用，如果原先的句子有一般動詞，要在主詞前面加上助動詞do /
does / did。如果句子含有be 動詞，將be 動詞與主詞位置對調。

英國民謠因其特殊國協關係又可分為英格蘭民謠、蘇格蘭民謠、威爾斯民謠與愛爾蘭民謠，本單元歌曲丹尼男孩 Danny Boy 就是一首經典的愛爾蘭民謠，它與夏日最後的玫瑰The Last Rose of Summer (1790 ) 並列為愛爾蘭最負盛名的兩首民歌。
Danny Boy刻劃父親對保家衛國的兒子之思念，The Last Rose of Summer則是描寫作者對故友與摯愛逐漸凋零的感觸，兩者都帶著濃濃的深情與哀傷，非常動聽。
