此曲是以帕海貝爾D大調卡農（Pachelbel's Canon）中的一部分旋律為基礎編寫出來的歌，由愛神之子合唱團Aphrodite's Child 發表於1968年的單曲。
卡農是一種曲風，是有數個相似聲部反覆出現的旋律，產生連綿不絕的流動感。
主唱者戴米斯魯索斯 Demis Roussos(1946-2015)來自希臘，因政治因素被希臘政府流放，旅居法國。他渾厚又帶有磁性的高音歌喉以及歷盡滄桑的流放背景，賦予這首歌療癒與勵志的果效，當年在歐美各國都成了暢銷單曲，至今歷久不衰。
